The nightly rate includes: the fully equipped apartment, high-speed Wi-Fi, bedding, towels and tea towels, fully equipped kitchen incl. dishwasher tabs, plus a welcome kit with salt, pepper, sugar, oil, vinegar, tea, coffee capsules and coffee cream. Also included: toilet paper and kitchen roll, shower gel and hand soap, cot, high chair and changing pad free on request, use of the ski and bike cellars, 2 parking spaces per apartment, plus our free city bikes, e-scooters and snowshoes to borrow. Laundry pods are free in the lobby. Not included: the one-time final cleaning (€95) and the tourist tax (€4 per person per night).

Yes, up to 30 days before arrival you can cancel free of charge — the deposit is fully refunded. From 29 to 7 days before, 70 % of the total is due; from 6 days before, 90 %. Alternatively, you can reschedule your booking to another date at any time — we are flexible there.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our apartments. We deliberately keep our apartments allergy-friendly so that guests with pet-hair allergies can feel at home too. Our two house cats Filou and Gin are outdoor cats and do not enter the apartments.

Unfortunately not – the garden, playground and pool belong to the owners’ private residences and are reserved for them. We’d love to open them up to you, but the area belongs to the house community. The one exception is The Summerfolk apartment: it can be booked on request including the VIP garden – the private garden area with pool is then exclusively yours for your stay.

Yes. Each apartment has 2 free outdoor parking spaces right at the house. If you prefer covered parking, you can add a carport space for €10 per night on request.

Villa Salzweg sits in Bad Goisern on the Hallstättersee. By car you reach us via the B145 — from Salzburg around 75 minutes, from Vienna around 3.5 hours. The nearest train station is Bad Goisern — just about 8 minutes on foot to Villa Salzweg. Right at the house you have 2 free parking spaces per apartment.

Depending on the season, minimum stay is 2 nights (low season), 3–4 nights (standard/school holidays) or 6+ nights (high season: late June to early September, Christmas/New Year). If there’s a booking gap, shorter stays work too — just call us on +43 677 64117199.

We don’t serve breakfast ourselves, but you can comfortably use our roll-delivery service: order online from the local bakery (by 10 p.m., payment by credit card) — by 8 a.m. the next morning the fresh breakfast is at your door. No delivery on Thursdays.

On Sundays and public holidays, shops in Austria are closed; otherwise they are usually open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. At petrol stations you can get the essentials on Sundays too, and on the main road there’s a 24/7 self-service shop. In our lobby you’ll also find our mini-shop with frozen items, pasta and sauces, sweets and salty snacks, plus a fine selection of room-temperature wines and chilled beer and radler.

Absolutely. We have excellent tap water straight from a mountain spring — continuously quality-tested. So you don’t need to lug any bottles ;-)

Yes, free shower gel and hand soap are provided in every apartment.

Every apartment has a washing machine, iron with ironing board and a clothes rack. There’s no dryer at Villa Salzweg. Laundry pods are free in the lobby.

The most beautiful — and honestly cheapest — option: by train from Bad Goisern station via Steeg-Gosau to Hallstatt station (on the opposite side of the lake), then by boat across to Hallstatt. Saves the expensive parking fees and is probably the most scenic approach there is. Alternatively by car or by taxi (see the FAQ entry on taxis).
