In the village centre you get fishing licences for the surrounding waters at the gunsmith Struger — and if you forgot something, you can pick up the right gear there as well. Tight lines!
What swims here and when
In the Hallstättersee: char, whitefish, trout, pike. Best time for char is May to June. The Mühlbach is a classic trout stream, closed season October to March.
With a day permit you may take 2–3 fish over the minimum size, depending on the water. Fly fishers will be especially happy — the Mühlbach right in the village is basically your front garden.
