Located next to the spa park and playground, this charming museum offers extensive information both about the history and culture of Bad Goisern and about the "Landler", who were forcibly resettled to Romania during the persecution of Protestants in the K.u.K. monarchy. While the ground floor is dedicated to the "Landler", the focus on the first and second floors is on the Goisern valley settlement landscape, marksmen traditions, Goisern shoemakers, famous Goisern locals, painters, folk culture, folk art and much more.

In the listed Schloss Neuwildenstein right in the centre of Bad Goisern the Hand.Werk.Haus is housed. Here you can visit an exhibition that tells you, across two floors, more about the crafts and about the craftspeople themselves. On the ground floor you can browse the very lovely shop for clothing, traditional dress or small souvenirs.

The salt mine in Hallstatt is the world's oldest known salt mine. As early as 7,000 years ago, people began to use the salt of the mountain. In the Bronze Age the place experienced its first great economic boom. With a funicular you can visit the freely suspended Skywalk with "World Heritage View", the burial ground and the show mine.

Emperor Franz Joseph I spent the summer months in this beautiful villa every year, making Bad Ischl a hotspot of court life in the second half of the 19th century. Even today Bad Ischl has the reputation of being the "imperial town". The rooms of the imperial family together with the original furnishings can be admired on guided tours.

Passages of pure, orange-red glowing rock salt, a mystical chapel for Saint Barbara, a minerals chamber and a salt lake await in Altaussee in the "mountain of treasures". On a guided tour you can visit the active salt mine and learn a lot of fascinating things about history and mining.
