E-Bike Guide Salzkammergut

Guided e-MTB tours with certified, local bike guides — from a relaxed alp tour to a sporty mountain experience.

20 min by car to Gosau

Karl Posch and his team guide you in small groups (max. 6 people) through the UNESCO World Heritage Hallstatt–Dachstein region. Pace and route are tailored to the group, from a gentle sightseeing alp tour to a sporty full-day trip with 900–1,400 m of altitude. The e-motor makes the climbs manageable — basic fitness and confident riding are enough, no technical trail skills required.

Prices 2026 (incl. e-bike): half-day from €123, full day from €162 per person. Meeting point: Pop-Up-Store Wirtsweg 16, Gosau (or another meeting point in the Salzkammergut on request).

Please book at least 3 days in advance. Helmet mandatory (rental helmet €6/day), weather-appropriate clothing required.

What awaits you

We have a locked bike room with e-bike charging points and a wash station out front — base-camp setup for a few relaxed days in the saddle.

Many huts let you top up your battery during the stop, so even the really big loops are doable. The central location saves you the annoying drive every morning: you’re on the forestry road in 5 to 10 minutes.

Our beginner pick: the S314 Weißenbach loop

Roll straight from the villa along the historic Soleweg (salt path) to Weißenbach — flat, traffic-free, with mountain views. From there the officially signposted Weißenbach loop (S314) starts: a relaxed 20.6 km loop with 290 m of elevation through the Weißenbach valley, past the protected Chorinsky-Klause (a historic timber structure in the middle of the forest — worth a stop, but it no longer serves drinks).

Almost entirely on forestry road, technically easy. On an e-bike: 2.5 h. On muscle power: 3–3.5 h. Stop at the Weißenbachwirt inn at the end of the loop.

Want more? From the Klause continue onto the Hochmuth loop — then it’s 800 m of climb and a full day.

Are you a road biker or gravel fan? Bad Goisern works for that too. The region is part of the “Rennradregion SalzburgerLand Salzkammergut” — a network of six regions with selected tours of varying difficulty, from the Salzburg Lake District to the Dachstein region.

Gravel bikers find a dense network of forest roads and quiet side roads in the Salzkammergut — exactly between road and mountain bike, fast, sporty and full of discoveries.
