When the weather doesn’t cooperate: Bad Ischl climbing gym (15 min, 1,200 m², 90+ routes, dedicated bouldering area) is our go-to. Also great: Eurotherme Bad Ischl with lazy river and slides, wellness area for adults right next door.
The all-weather Abarena adventure park (24 min) is built for any weather — trampolines, go-karts, ball pit. For reading kids: the World Heritage Museum in Hallstatt is multilingual and made for children.
Soleweg, the Vordere Gosausee loop and the Figuren-Sagenweg at the Ewige Wand are stroller-friendly. The Dorf der Tiere in Abersee (rabbits, goats, ponies) is the favourite address for the very young.
At Strandbad Untersee there’s shallow water and a nice sandy area — ideal for digging. Diapers, baby food and care products: best selection at Bipa in Bad Goisern (Bundesstraße, 5 min by car), basics also at Nah & Frisch in the village on foot.
